Use proper removal boxes - it'll make your task easier, your items are going to be safer, and your moves are going to be completed more quickly.
Plan what you're fixing each removal box.
We recommend using butchers paper...newspaper may leave ink marks.
Cross tape rock bottom and top of the moving box with professional moving tape. There is no need to fold the box flaps in...That quaint and ruins the box.
Mark clearly on the tape, the contents of the box and therefore the room it's getting to (eg: "Glassware - Dining Room").
Don't overload or overflow removal boxes.
Don't pack large boxes with books or heavy items as they become too heavy to move safely. If you have to place heavier items into a chest box, limit the heavy stuff to no quite half way and refill with Tupperware for instance.
Protect your goods by layering the contents:-
Place an honest layer of screwed-up paper (we call this "crush") across rock bottom of the box, and up the edges as high because the first row of things.
Form a layer of the heaviest items, individually wrapped in paper. Confirm they fit snugly together so there'll be no movement.
If you're packing crockery, do not be tempted to lay plates flat during a moving box and risk breakage; rather, wrap each plate individually then bind them together, tight, with butcher's paper and no quite four plates at a time for side plates.
Place a stack of plain newsprint on the table. The sheets should be large enough to accommodate the plates or object you would like to pack.
Place the primary plate within the center of the highest sheet and fold one corner of the sheet over the plate until it's completely covered.
Take subsequent plate and place it on top of the primary plate. Wrap the remaining three corners of the plain newsprint sheet over the second, third and fourth plates respectively.
Secure the newsprint with packing tape.
For dinner plates its best to wrap them individually.
Place the plates within the box on their side/vertically. Plates should never be packed flat. If the box encounters any quite force, plates on their edge can sustain tons more pressure.
Continue wrapping and placing the plates within the box until the box it tightly packed.
Fold within the edges of the bubble wrap if you select to use bubble that's... Therefore the plates are covered and guarded. On top of this layer of wrapped items, place another layer of crushed paper, and again up the edges.
Continue layering the things wrapped in paper between layers of crushed paper, working up from the heavier items at rock bottom, to the lighter, finer items on the highest.
Finish flush to the highest of the box with a final layer of crushed paper. All items should fit tightly to make sure there's no movement.
If there's room remaining within the box, place linens or towels on top of the plates before sealing the box.
Remember; if it can fit it during a box, put it during a box! That has items sort of a mini hive, a flowery hat or a lamp shade. Not only will this protect your items but make packing the removal truck far easier and quicker.
